“Reflexology is the application of specific pressures to reflex points in the hands and feet.” – William Fitzgerald (1872 – 1942).
While the art of Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, it wasn’t until 1913 that Dr. William Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the West as ‘zone therapy’. He noted that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone.
There are reflex areas in the feet and hands corresponding to all of the glands, organs, and parts of the body. Reflexology is the unique art and method of using fingers and thumbs on these different reflex areas.
Vanessa has been focusing on this technique thoroughly since 1996, therefore making Reflexology her specialty (especially on feet since this is where many people have pain and discomfort).
This modality is done with or without the use of lotion, most commonly without.
